*Not sure where this one was released. Might be Portugal or Spain because I got 2 from a Spanish guy who claims the single was released there. Another guy says it's from Australia. Might be true because it was released by Liberty, whereas the Spanish releases at that time where distributed by Marfer. On the E.P. itself or the sleeve there is no valid information.

This single was produced by George Daly for his label PAC Records in Mill Valley. Clover were still managed by the Pyramid Associates Corporation (Joe Kerr). As a matter of fact Clover were signed by Phonogram under the new management of Dave Robinson and the single was not distributed.

Clover: 'Chicken Funk' (Vertigo). Chickens? Funk? Rural? City? Do they mix? Yup. Slapped together on this waxing they gell like Instant Whip and a pint of gold top. Result: happiest single this year from the grossly underrated West Coasters. Fiddle excursions behind negroid vocal and shrieking whistles. Redneck soul, irresistable. As the man say "Feel so bad you wanna shoot yourself/well stop and take another breath/there's a much hipper way to go/just Chicken Funk yourself to death.

The Clover EP was released as a bonus to the GRAHAM PARKER / CITY BOY release "Rock On!" [PHILIPS 9199273, NORWAY/SWEDEN]

This Swedish promotional split-LP from 1977 (pressed in Norway, but only distributed in Sweden) is ultra rare and features City Boy on Side 1 and Graham Parker on Side 2. In addition to the 7" by Clover the LP also included several stickers, biographical inserts in Swedish and a competition sheet.
